Dean Higgins

Executive Director

Dean has a history of tournament fishing that includes the RCL, IWTT, GNWC, Wave Wackers Tournament and the Clear Lake Walleye Classic. Dean and his Partner had 2 wins to their credit while fishing the IWTT. Dean and his wife traveled across 6 states during the 2 years they directed tournaments for the GNWC and now are in their third year of owning and directing the I.O.W.A. Team Walleye Tournament Trail.

Dean is a Certified Assistive Technology Practitioner and a Certified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier and is employed as a manager/practitioner by CarePro Health Services. With a main office in Belmond, Iowa, Dean travels the state doing wheelchair clinics for pediatrics and adults. In 2005, Dean also traveled to an orphanage in Zimbabwe, Africa where he distributed 145 wheelchairs to the kids in need.


Christine Higgins
Marketing Director

Christine has been involved in directing tournaments for several years.  She and her husband Dean directed tournaments in several states prior to purchasing the Iowa Tournament trail in 2006.  She has fished tournaments with her husband, and enjoys fishing with her family.  In Christine's words, "I want to help make an enjoyable tournament trail for anglers of all levels.  I hope to help create some of the best memories possible for the men and women that are part of the Iowa Organization of Walleye Anglers."

Christine works as a Sales and Service Consultant for Wright County Motors in Clarion, Iowa.  You can contact her to get yourself in a qualifying tow vehicle for the $500 Wright County Motors Bonus - a new incentive award to the I.O.W.A. in 2008.


Steve Weisman

Publicity Director

I.O.W.A. Publicity Director Steve Weisman was an educator and coach for 33years. He retired from teaching in 2003 and now divides his time as afree-lance writer and an educational consultant working with high schools inthe Midwest on school improvement plans. He is also a free lance travel
writer, outdoor editor for three newspapers in northwest Iowa, field editor for Midwest Outdoors and a power stick for Ice Team. "I love being a part of tournament fishing and am proud to be a part of the I.O.W.A. circuit. It's exciting for me to be able to write about the experiences of the
participating teams and to help promote what I think is the best walleye circuit around."
